Dear Friend of the "Restore a Treasured Chicago Jewel" Campaign.

As a small token of our appreciation for your support for our Tiffany Peace Window restoration campaign, Friends of Historic Second Church is delighted to share with you this photographic progress report on the 1903 window's restoration. We will send periodic updates as the work continues and then an invitation to a celebration of the unveiling of the restored window at a date yet to be determined in the late spring 2018.

The window was removed in June 2017 and was transferred to the Venturella Studio in New York City where it is undergoing its year-long conservation.  The work is unbelievably detailed and time consuming.  We are fortunate to have engaged a NYC-based filmmaker to document the process.  Click here to see the video showing the removal and early stages of studio restoration work.

To get an idea of the ongoing work and the eye-popping transformation of the window, Tom Venturella sends us periodic updates.  We share a few of those with you above.  We hope that you are as thrilled to see them as we are.

Thank you for your gift that enables this work.  You are making possible the window's restoration to its original beauty.
